Pump Track Minutes – Wednesday 11 December 2024

Edd reports meeting with Cllr Davis and consultant from Wilby and Burnet. Exploring transfer of land to the recreation ground outside of/ahead of CPSN. Suggests landowner – Caroline Chivers – looking for ‘punchiness’ to a project.
Colin, Tom and Yvonne met with Amanda Sylvester and Katie Ixer from County Council Communities team to walk around potential locations. Saw potential in Homefield Park – still close to Recreation ground for use of toilets, close access from road for observation and safety. Least excited by Manor Park, could see attraction of open space, however they had concerns for children’s safety accessing the site via narrow footpaths and more difficult observation. Concert also at nearby woodland providing concealment for people wishing to harm children. Asked to additionally look at the Copse. Felt this had huge potential that we may have overlooked. Centrally located close to shop and toilets on the rec. Close enough to rec to benefit from nearby youth worker if the parish moved in that direction. Yet not removing space from the existing sport use at the recreation ground. Noise unlikely to be a concern as already traffic noise generated by the B1049. Access onto roads and lit footpaths very quickly.
Proposed meeting with relevant parties to get advice on Homefield Park and Copse with respect to current trees. Colin took action to organise. Suggesting Velosolutions, SCDC tree officer, HIPC tree officer, Amanda Sylvester, Dan Mace and Cllr Sarah Smith.

Proposed meeting in January with Yvonne Murray (Parish Chair) and Chelsea O’Brian (Parish Clerk) to progress the motions taken by HIPC in September. Progress with Manor Park lease agreement with CCC. Progress with solicitors with Homefield Park covenant. Discuss requirement for Feasibility work. Edd took action to organize.
Co-op bank account. Action with Colin and Edd to resolve dongle issues.
